Shang Gao

From September 2009 to June 2013, he studied plant science and technology at the School of Life Science and Technology, Hebei Normal University of Science and Technology, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in agriculture.

From September 2013 to December 2015, he studied crop genetics and breeding at the Wheat Research Institute of Sichuan Agricultural University and obtained a master’s degree in agriculture.

From June 2016 to August 2020, he was jointly trained as a doctoral student by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) and the University of Tasmania. He obtained a doctoral degree and mainly engaged in genetic resistance mining of stem rot disease in barley and pan-genome construction and analysis of barley.

From September 2020 to September 2022, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Life Sciences, Tsinghua University, mainly engaged in data mining and analysis of plant immune-related genes.

Since October 2022, he has been an assistant researcher at the Institute of Crop Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, mainly engaged in research on the regulatory mechanism of complex traits by crop genetic networks.

As of June 2023, more than 20 research papers have been published in journals such as New Phytologist, Plant Journal, Theoretical and Applied Genetics, etc., of which 8 SCI papers have been published as first or co-first authors. Reviewer for top journals such as PLOS Genetics.
